The Practical Quilter is a new concept shopping experience for the New Zealand Quilter with the sole focus of offering the supplies and accessories needed to make amazing quilts, bags or other textile items. We offer a range of products from patterns through to rulers, English Paper Piecing products and kits and so many other items. The Practical Quilter purchases from local New Zealand distributors as well as direct from companies in the USA, Canada, Australia and wherever we see something the New Zealand Quilter may want to try. The Practical Quilter is based on the North Shore in Auckland and I started this business in December 2018 after returning from Australia. It was while living in Australia the idea of setting up an online store focusing on the non fabric side of quilting was born. I'm a gadget girl and as much as I love fabric (my large fabric stash in my sewing room proves that), I also love finding and trying out new tools and accessories to help improve my quilting. What I didn't see on my return to Auckland was anyone who solely focussed on supplying those very tools and accessories, so I thought why not me, so The Practical Quilter was born.
