This is the Mosaic Quilt pattern from Fig Tree Quilts. Simple piecing and a little layout magic creates these blocks. Choose from the larger block and a Layer Cake for the main quilt -OR- a slightly smaller block and (2) charm packs instead for the slightly smaller version. I I understand it it might be too hard to pick and in that case perhaps you make both... keep one and gift one?
